CCR: Cat Fish

Below is my reflection on my most recent project, the final product/opening sequence for my movie Cat Fish. It has been a pleasure working on such a task in this class and I've definitely grown and learned a whole lot in this class. This and the tasks before it allowed me to broaden my creative field and become a more creative person as a whole. There have been ups and downs but overall I can not complain about the way my final task turned out. I hope everyone that comes across it enjoys it, and with that being said, here it is.

Editing Blog: Prom Queen in Progress

 I started editing yesterday, December 6th, 2020. I started with Airdropping the shots I took on my phone to my MacBook. Then, I transferred them to my photo gallery in order for me to use them in iMovie. Once they were all successfully imported into the software, I put them in their intended orders as they were on my storyboard. Then, I added the song then trimmed it down to one minute. After that, I took my time and trimmed the individual clips down to my desired length. This went well until about the scene where the girl contemplates putting makeup on to look more like the woman in the picture. At this point I've realized that the scene was too short. I ended up having to extend the next scene to compensate for the seconds missed. This is where it started to get a bit difficult to match up with the pacing of the music. Editing Blog: The Coca-Cola Process

The first thing I did after shooting all my footage was move all the clips into my editing software. Once I got them in the same order as my storyboard, I started to trim each of the individual shots down to my desired length of about 5 seconds. As previously mentioned, there were two clips that I had a bit of trouble filling and those two got more time than the others because this is where I intended to put my VoiceOver. I had trouble trimming the clips so that they wouldn't override the 30 second limit. It was difficult choosing which parts of each shot were worth getting cut for the sake of the commercial being the right length. In the last scene, I had to cut off more than 10 seconds to make it fit but I finally got it. When got all parts of the video to my my preferred length, I started adding transitions. Filming Blog: Prom Queen

I filmed the 2nd half of my project today, November 28th. I filmed the last 7 scenes of my music video today. I started off with the same outfit I wore in the previous scene to prevent inconsistency throughout the music video. I fixed the lighting issue that I had on the day before also. Im not sure how big of a contrast it will create when I edit the clips together but hopefully it isn't that noticeable that the lighting changed halfway throughout the song. This is the day that I used majority of the props like plastic wrap and multiple makeup products along with markers as well. I would say that filming today went well for the most part. When it was time for me to shot the montage of the subject's makeup process it was a little tedious and time consuming. As a result, it drained my battery pretty quickly and I frequently had to charge my phone between scenes.
